War: Ukraine ready to accept two conditions as part of peace deal – Zelensky

Ukraine is ready to accept security guarantees and a neutral non-nuclear status as part of a peace deal with Russia, amid the ongoing war between both countries.

This was disclosed by Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Russian independent journalists, on Sunday, according to CNN.

“Security guarantees and the neutral, non-nuclear status of our State, we are ready to accept this. This is the most important point,” Zelensky said.

“This was the first point of principle for the Russian Federation, as I recall. And as far as I remember, they started the war because of this.”

“So, this clause is a security guarantee clause for Ukraine. And since they say it is for them [security guarantees] as well, it is understandable to me, and it is being discussed. It is in-depth, but I am interested in making sure it is not just another piece of paper.

“So we are interested in having that paper turned into a serious treaty to be signed,” he added.

The War between Russia and Ukraine began last month.

Russian President, Vladimir Putin had declared war against Ukraine due to political differences between both countries.

However, several casualties have since been recorded.
