It will amaze Nigerians that the viral photo of late President Musa Yar’adua on a sick bed that circulated the media was actually a hoax.
Back in 2008, during the ill-health period of the late President Musa Yar’adua, Nigerians were all confined in the dark over the then president’s true state of wellness.
With different media outfits reporting conflicting and inconsistent news with regard to his whereabouts, Nigerians were stunned when this photo (above) purportedly showing the president in an undisclosed hospital looking quite dishevelled and sickly.
At the time, most Nigerians bought this deception and ran with the story.The photo went viral and became a lasting vestige of that dark era. Later, the false photo was exposed for what it truly was, ’a malicious act of character assassination.’
